Well I finally finished her and I'm really pleased. I haven't finished anything in ages. I was waiting for some nice sunshine to photo her in but I live in England...tsk! At the moment I'm trying to group together my best work to submit to my local guild of crafts. I'm really desperate to join them but I don't know what to submit. I thought Moth might be something I could use.
(See Moth textiles for the textiles I used). Her head's made out of air drying clay. I used afro extensions for her hair. She has a wire frame padded with scraps of wadding and her base is an old clotted cream tub (yes I definitely come from Devon!).
I'm not sure about her wings as she kinda looks like she has chimp arms...but nevermind...

Well done fore finishing her - she looks gorgeous! I love the closed eyes - really serene.
I actually think the arms are great, as they add to the sereneness of her - not being able to do much anyway.
How big is she? The beading works so well in her hair!

Aww thankies! I have a thing about dolls with open eyes...I wouldn't have been able to sleep with her in the same room if they'd been open beady little things...*shudder*...she's about 20" (51 ish cms)

hey - that's quite big! I thought she'd only be about 30cm. Was it quite difficult to attach the head, or was it just a case of shoving it on?

She's got like a wire spine thingy poking out of the top of her body...sort of like a scarecrow if that makes sense and the head has a hole in the bottom so it can just sit on the top of the wire and shoulders...hope I explained that properly...I used a hell of a lot of wire coathangers.

 it's truely beautiful!
wow, this is gorgeous! i wasnt sure what you intended to do with the "moth textiles" you made a while ago, i just thought they were pretty, but you put it together so well!! the beading is cute and really ties in, and the fabric looks like something you'd buy in a fabric shop for an obscene amount of money! well done!!!

OMG Rachel!!! its GORGEOUS! :D

whats up? i havnt been on in a while.
Awww thank u! That's so sweet of you! I was kind of reluctant to cut up the textiles but I'm glad I did. I decided to make a bag with similar textiles so you can see more of it when it's made up. I'm glad the beading looks OK, I have the tendency to go a bit mad with beads sometimes!
